As many people who have played HL2rp will know: S2K is usually an extremely vague concept on servers and comes with many problems as people never know what to do in a situation such as a sewer sweep and when they are allowed to open fire, so this thread has been made for ALL factions so everyone knows how s2k works in our server.
1. Sewer Sweep rules
Civil Protection units
When units are on the surface in the Slums or in the basement where rebels tend to trade with citizens, a /me must always be carried out to initiate combat. In the basement if a CP and a Rebel come into contact with one another then the Civil Protection unit gets "first dibs" on a /me as in this scenario the units in the sweep have the tactical advantage. If a Rebel is unfortunate to be caught in this situation their only option is to do a /me of running away to abide by fear RP rules.
When in the sewers, s2k is immediately initiated. So if units see a rebel in the sewers they can open fire whenever they see fit, without a /me being needed.
Citizens/Rebels/Anti-citizens
The rules for citizens in a sweep link closely together with the rules for Civil Protection. The Civil Protection get first dibs on a /me as they have the tactical advantage and as a rebel/citizen you can only RP as attempting to run away in this situation or attempt to fight if you really want to, but note, there is almost no chance of you surviving alone.
If you see CPs in the sewers then you can open fire or run away with no RP at all as they will be doing the same.
Vortigaunt
If Civil Protection units enter the basement during a sweep then a Vort does not have enough time ICly to channel their vortessence and their only option if they wish to survive is to attempt to run away after the Civil Protection unit has written out their /me.
Within the sewers, Vortigaunts can initiate S2K just like the Civil Protection units and the citizens. Their vort "beam" is considered extremely powerful and they may use it as much as they like in an s2k situation but if a vort actively seeks out a fight during a sweep they WILL receive a PK if they die.
OTA
Whenever the OTA are called in, they will always enter from the sewers except in special circumstances (AKA: Events). So the presence of OTA in the sewers initiates S2K immediately and no RP is required by rebels or OTA. These units will also leave via the sewers.
